TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 155 MONTHLY DUES
Monthly Union Dues have been suspended for all members until further notice, due to the COVID-19 crisis. Those that have paid in advance will be credited to their account. More information HERE
TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO.155 HIRE HALL FEES
Upon written request Hiring Hall fees will be refunded for those who have paid April 2020 and beyond, due to the COVID-19 crisis. TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO.155 ACTIVE HEALTH PLAN: COVID-19 HOUR BANK POLICY
Effective April 1 2020 the hour bank “freeze” will take place for April, May, June, and July 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis. Self pay member’s accounts will also “freeze”. EMPLOYMENT INSURANCE (EI) (FEDERAL)
If you have suffered job loss due to shortage or work, and worked at least 700 hours in the last 52 weeks. You may be eligible for up to $573 a week, for up to 36 weeks. Payments will be based on the best 22 weeks in the qualifying period. Apply online HERE , Record of Employment (ROE) is required.
EI – SICKNESS BENEFIT (FEDERAL)
If you are Quarantined or sick due to the COVID-19 crisis, your regular weekly earning have decreased by more than 40% for at least one week, and you have worked a minimum of 600 hours in the last 52 weeks, you may be eligible for up to $573 per week for up to a maximum of 15 weeks. The one week waiting period will be waived. No medical certificate is required during quarantine. A medical certificate is required if tested positive beyond the quarantine period. CANADA EMERGENCY RESPONSE BENEFIT (FEDERAL)
Workers who have ceased working for 15 consecutive days for reason related to the COVID-19 crisis. As well as wage earners, including contract workers and self-employed individuals regardless of their eligibility for EI, who are residents of Canada, 15 years or older, with a total income of at least $5,000 in the last 52 weeks, are eligible for $2,000 per 4-week period, for up to 16 weeks. CANADA CHILD BENEFIT (CCB) (FEDERAL)
Residents of Canada who are primarily responsible for the care and upbringing of a child, are eligible for an extra $300 per child. Payment is scheduled with CCB in May 2020. If you have not registered. Apply HERE
GST CREDIT (FEDERAL)
For low to modest income families, who have filed 2018 taxes, up to $400 per individual and $600 per couple may be available. Benefit is paid out according to your income tax return. More information is available HERE
BC EMERGENCY BENEFIT (PROVINCIAL)
BC residents who receive EI or Canada Emergency Response Benefit, and workers who have lost income due to the COVID-19 crisis may be eligible for a one-time payment of $1,000. The payment will be in May 2020, though the application process has not yet been announced. More information available HERE
BC CLIMATE ACTION TAX CREDIT (PROVINCIAL)
Moderate to low income families, may be eligible for up to $218 per adult and $64 per child. Children under 18 years old must be registered for the CCB (Canada Child Benefit) to qualify. Benefit will be paid out according to your income tax return. The payment will be in July 2020. More information HERE
BC HYDRO (PROVINCIAL)
Those facing financial hardship due to job loss or illness, may be eligible for a grant up to $600 or a bill payment deferral. Effective now, please call 1-800-BC-HYDRO or apply online HERE
ICBC (PROVINCIAL)
Customers on a monthly payment plan may defer payment for up to 90 days with no penalty. Call 1.800.665.6442 or apply online HERE
BC TEMPORARY RENTAL SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM (BC-TRS) (PROVINCIAL)
Low to moderate income renters facing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis may be eligible for up to $500 a month towards rent, paid directly to the landlord. Please visit www.bchousing.org/covid19 for more information.
FREEZE ON RENTAL RATES (PROVINCIAL)

BC TRANSIT AND TRANSLINK (PROVINCIAL)

MORTGAGE AND CAR LOAN
Speak with your lender to see if you are eligible for a 6 month payment deferral.
STUDENT LOAN (FEDERAL)
Student loan borrowers are eligible for payment and interest being waived for 6 months. Repayment will be paused automatically.
PERSONAL INCOME TAX
Filing deadline has been moved to June 1 2020, with payment of tax owing moved to August 31, 2020. More information available HERE
THE AFC – EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Those of working age that have earned the majority of their income from the entertainment industry in 2019, or if you are over 65 and have earned the majority of your income from the entertainment industry you may be eligible for AFC Emergency Financial Assistance. Visit www.afchelps.ca and provide lease documents for rent assistance, mortgage documents for mortgage assistance, current bank statement and documentation of expenses.
