VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE FOR 2023 BURNABY CHRISTMAS BUREAU

Thanks for your interest in helping in the Christmas Bureau! Christmas is coming and our team is in full force setting up the “Toy Room” at the Amazing Brentwood Mall to distribute toys and gifts to families in need. With community support, we can provide Christmas cheer to people in need in Burnaby. We are looking for various volunteers with details below.

1. Christmas Auxiliary – Battery Blitz

• Date: any weekday before Nov 17
• Time: Any 2 – 3 hours between 10 am – 4 pm for around 6 volunteers
• Venue: The Amazing Brentwood Mall, 4567 Lougheed Hwy [Old Sears Store, Main Mall Level, next to the Children’s Play Area]
• Duties: Some toys require batteries. We received batteries from a donor and need volunteers to put batteries on toys with tapes so that families don’t need to pay extra for batteries before their kids can enjoy their new toys.

 

2. Christmas Mover – Toys

• Dates and Time: Nov 17 Fri morning, starting around 9:30 am for 2-3 hours
• Venue: The Amazing Brentwood Mall, 4567 Lougheed Hwy [Old Sears Store, Main Mall Level, next to the Children’s Play Area]
• Duties: Loads of toys will be delivered from the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau to our Toy Room at the Amazing Brentwood Mall on Nov 17 morning and we need 8-10 able-bodied volunteers to help with unloading at the Toy Room
• Remark: We have secured 5 volunteers already. It will be great to have a few more.

 

3. Christmas Auxiliary – Tape Blitz

• Date and Time: any weekday in the week of Nov 20, a few volunteers for a few hours
• Venue: The Amazing Brentwood Mall, 4567 Lougheed Hwy [Old Sears Store, Main Mall Level, next to the Children’s Play Area]
• Duties: Remove all the tapes from the boxes of collected toys

 

4. Christmas Mover – Bikes

• Date: Nov (exact date and time TBC)
• Time: Flexible; 2 – 3 hours for a few volunteers
• Venue: The Amazing Brentwood Mall, 4567 Lougheed Hwy [Old Sears Store, Main Mall Level, next to the Children’s Play Area]
• Duties: Moving donated bikes into the Toy Room

 

1. Christmas Reindeer

• Dates and Time: Flexible in Dec (please advise your availability between Dec 1 to 15 and we will your availabilities with donors)
• Duties: Reindeers help deliver donated toys from our donors to our Toy Room.
